When selecting a gas booster pump, there are many customers who still have many misconceptions. Today, I will briefly introduce one of the misconceptions, which is about the selection of flow rate.
Taking the Feentor ZTA05 and ZTA02 gas booster pumps as examples. Customer on-site working conditions: The customer conducted a pressure test on a 7m ³ volume, with a test pressure of 15 bar and an on-site driving pressure of 6 bar. However, the customer wanted to increase the pressure as quickly as possible. They chose ZTA02 gas booster pump based on ZTA02 flow rate of 960 L/MIN and ZTA05 flow rate of 360 L/min. However, according to the effect, ZTA02's performance was not ideal. When the pressure reached 13 bar, the pressure rose very slowly. Later, through analysis by the sales engineer, it was found that the driving pressure on the customer's site was unstable with fluctuations of 5-6 bar, and the nitrogen pressure at the inlet was 5 bar, while the flow rate of the nitrogen generator was 300 L/min. Therefore, it was recommended that the customer replace the ZTA05 gas booster pump. After using the pump, it was found that the effect was more efficient compared to the ZTA02 pump, reaching a speed of 15 bar faster.
Actually, we need to remember that the gas booster pump boosts the pressure, not the flow rate. If the flow rate of the gas booster pump is 900L/min, but the inlet pressure of the pressurized medium is 300L/min, then the output flow rate of the gas booster pump will not exceed the flow rate of the medium.
