A nitrogen booster, also known as a nitrogen booster pump or nitrogen booster valve, is a machine used to boost nitrogen gas. It belongs to the category of pneumatic booster pumps and is a reciprocating booster pump. Unlike plunger pumps, it is classified as a pneumatic piston booster.
The working principle of a nitrogen booster is to use the pressure difference formed by the area ratio to output high-pressure nitrogen gas generated by the small piston through the small force of the large piston. The direction of the high-pressure one-way valve controls the output of the nitrogen gas at the high-pressure end.
Nitrogen is an inert gas, and more than half of the air contains nitrogen. Therefore, the development of nitrogen boosters provides a convenient tool for increasing the pressure or filling nitrogen cylinders in nitrogen generators.
